Currently Arden Medical Centre is offering a selection of GP appointments online. This will be closely monitored by the surgery and additional appointments may be added in the future.
Appointments with the Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are of varying duration depending on the nature of the appointment, so you will need to contact the surgery by telephone to make these appointments.
How do I change an appointment?
You cannot amend an appointment. You must cancel the original appointment and then book a new one.
I have booked an online appointment with one GP. Can I book a further appointment regarding a different problem with another GP?

FAQs
Why is there no tick box against an item?
If there is no tick box, then that particular item cannot be re-ordered at present. This is usually because you should still have sufficient medication from your last prescription, or you have already made a recent request for the item.
Why are some items missing from the list?
Certain medications (e.g. warfarin) cannot be listed on repeat prescription request forms, and must be ordered in person at the surgery.
Can I request a repeat prescription for another patient?
You can only make online requests for yourself.
Please note we are not able to process new medication or dosage change requests via the website
Summary patient record
Within SystmOnline, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the 'patient record' tab.
Patients can view their 'Summary Care Record' (SCR). An SCR is an electronic record that's stored at a central location. As the name suggests, the record will not contain detailed information about your medical history, but will only contain important health information, such as:
- whether you're taking any prescription medication
- whether you have any allergies
- whether you've previously had a bad reaction to any medication
Summary Care Records improve the safety and quality of patient care. Because the Summary Care Record is an electronic record, it will give healthcare staff (outside of the GP surgery) faster, easier access to essential information about you, and help to give you safe treatment during an emergency.
More detail can be found here - Your records
Coded patient record
Within SystmOnline, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the 'patient record' tab.
Being able to see your elements of your record online might help you to manage your medical conditions. It also means that you can even access it from anywhere in the world should you require medical treatment on holiday.
In future it is planned that more of your clinical record may be available online. Please be aware that this functionality may require additional security checks to enable you to access more detailed medical information.
If you print out any information from your record, it is also your responsibility to keep this secure. If you are at all worried about keeping printed copies safe, we recommend that you do not make copies at all.
Tther are things to consider about your medical record. Although the chances of any of these things happening are very small, please ensure you read and understand the following:
- Forgotten history - There may be something you have forgotten about in your record that you might find upsetting.
- Abnormal results or bad news - If your GP has given you access to test results or letters, you may see something that you find upsetting to you. This may occur before you have spoken to your doctor or while the surgery is closed and you cannot contact them.
- Choosing to share your information with someone - It’s up to you whether or not you share your information with others – perhaps family members or carers. It’s your choice, but also your responsibility to keep the information safe and secure.
- Coercion - If you think you may be pressured into revealing details from your patient record to someone else against your will, it is best that you do not register for access at this time.
- Misunderstood information - Your medical record is designed to be used by clinical professionals to ensure that you receive the best possible care. Some of the information within your medical record maybe highly technical, written by specialists and not easily understood. If you require further clarification, please contact the surgery for a clearer explanation.
- Information about someone else - If you spot something in the record that is not about you or you notice any other errors, please log out of the system immediately and contact the practice
SystmOnline App
There is a SystmOnline app that can be used on Apple mobile devices running the iOS operating system (iPhones and iPads). It is listed on Apple's App Store and is available to download for free.
Patients can use their existing login details to use the app which provides a similar service to patients as the SystmOnline website.
However the app does not have facilities for patients to do the following:
- include a note to specify SEND TO WINDRIDGES/DORRIDGE on a repeat medication request **
- include a brief note to accompany an appointment booking **
- complete questionnaires
** Patients who need to add notes must use the full website - NOT the app.
